About Me
My name is Sourav Sil. I am from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Recently, I joined Intel Corporation at Hillsboro, OR as a 'Process Engineer'. I earned my Ph. D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Warren F. Beck at Department of Chemistry, Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. I completed my M.Sc. in IIT Kharagpur in 2018. For my master's thesis project I worked in Prof. Nilmoni Sarkar's laboratory. I studied my B.Sc. in Maulana Azad College, University of Calcutta.

I grew up in lower middle-class Indian family in a small town in West Bengal. From my childhood I realized that I am not excellent (maybe better than average) neither in any sports (Cricket, Football [in America known as 'Soccer'], etc.) nor any artistic things (Painting, writing, etc.). So, I focused in my study in which I was excellent in our area. For college I moved to the nearest big city, Kolkata and started planning for higher studies in abroad. Then I went to IIT Kharagpur for my masters. There I realized that outside of my academic career I am passionate about serving in different 'Leadership' roles and I am good at it. Probably I got it from my father who is a 'People's Leader' in our town. After my M.Sc. I moved to Michigan State for my doctoral work. There also I enhanced my leadership skills.
In my free time I watch movies, tv series and sports. I follow Cricket and Football (Soccer); recently started watching baseball and basketball. Occasionally, I workout, play sports and go for swimming. I enjoy driving and visiting new places. Also, I like to cook and explore dishes from other countries. I love to keep in touch with my family and old friends.
For last few years, I started learning about the stock market and crypto currency. I gained some experiences in trading in a hard way (if you know what I mean!). Recently I started reading books about stock market, money management and investment.
